Little Shoppers Shop is on Wednesday, December 13th 

If you are interested in having your child buy gifts at this event, please send money to school with them on Wednesday morning.  As always, participation is optional.

Please Help Our Math Class!

Dear 4th Grade Parents,

We are starting The Incredible Cookie Number Crunch in math class this week.  The kids are going to be solving  problems involving measurement and conversion of measurements in learning groups.  They will be bringing their learning to life by making cookies using the measurements they solved in the project!  We will be making the cookies next Wednesday, December 20th and need your help!  

Please think about helping our class by sending any of the following by TUESDAY, December 19th!

Report Cards- Fundraiser- Spirit Week

Tomorrow, Thursday, December 7th, please check your child's folder for his/her first trimester report cards.  Report cards can be kept at home, but please return the report card envelope and the cover for the envelope, signed.  

The Pennies for Patients fundraising campaign in our school is going strong.  Look for information on next week's spirit week which is going home tomorrow.  Each day is also detailed below. Students can continue to donate using their coin collection boxes, adding to the Penny Jar containers, or you can click on the link below and donate to our class webpage.  Thanks for all you do!

Packaging Holiday Meals

As part of a school wide service project, we would like to provide holiday meals for 10  families. We are asking that each classroom collects the following items so that boxes can be created and delivered for Christmas dinner.

Wysocki  =  canned carrots

Held  =  packaged desserts of any kind (cookies, pie, cake, etc.)

Collection dates- Monday December 4th till Friday December 15th.

Our Classroom is fundraising for children with cancer by participating in a Student Series program. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Series campaign is working with thousands of schools across the country to raise funds for blood cancer research.  

Thanks to schools like US and donors like YOU, there are more children and adults surviving every day. 

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Donations support LLS research, patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services.

PARADE ROUTE

We will leave QE from the bus lane doors and turn right on the sidewalk toward 6^th Street. We will turn right onto 6^th St., then turn right at Park Avenue, and then finally right onto 7^th St. The parade route will end on the playground blacktop, where students will line up on the perimeter where they can catch a glimpse of the other classes as they walk by. We encourage parents to gather along the parade route for photos and a chance to see the wonderful costumes, but please do not join the parade itself.

COSTUMES

On the day of the parade, please have your children bring their costumes in bags with their names on them. Since children will be changing into their costumes at school, costumes that fit over their school clothes will be most appreciated to minimize the time and effort needed to change. Additional faculty members will be in grades K-3 to assist with costume changes.Our school district and our school are concerned about safety.  We ask for your cooperation by providing a costume that does not encourage or focus on violence. As per the Student Code of Conduct, weapons, or replicas of them, are not permitted as part of your child’s costume and should not be brought into school.

Students, who for religious reasons do not celebrate Halloween, will be invited to stay in the school library with supervision during the costume changing time and parade to play games. Students not participating in the parade will be invited back into the classroom for their party at 2:45.

FALL PARTY

Mr. Wysocki's class and Mrs. Held's class will celebrate Fall as a group with snacks and a movie.  If you are sending in treats, there are 41 students total.

Book Ordering for 4th Grade is EASY online!

You may wish to give your child the opportunity to OWN a few great books this year.  This first book order contains many great titles that go perfectly with our literature studies in school.  The students are excited about our novel, The One and Only Ivan, and other novels they are reading in BOOK CLUBS.

The BOOK ORDER FLYER was sent home yesterday.

Orders are due next Monday, October 9th.

Order using the paper copy sent home.  Send back to school with a check made out to SCHOLASTIC or CASH.
